What is social isolation?

Writer: ludipsyludipsy

Social isolation could be defined according to five networks; family, professional, friendly, affinity, and neighborhood (environmental) isolation.

Thus, social isolation would be present in people who have little or no social relations in the five networks listed above.

Social isolation is therefore quantitative; in the number of interpersonal relationships, and qualitative; the quality or lack of rewarding relationships (Ouellet, 1994).
